He was the Department Manager of Microelectronics with Westinghouse Research Laboratories, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for twenty seven years where he conducted research on gallium arsenide microwave monolithic integrated circuits and other semiconductor devices. He was the Director of Publications for Materials Research Society, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania for ten years where he was responsible for the publication of the Journal of Materials Research, the MRS Bulletin, and the Proceedings of the MRS Meetings.
Title: “Improving your Chances of Publication”.
He will talk about how to choose a science topic that will result in good publication opportunities. He will also include what not to choose. This will be followed by how to write the paper, including the structure of the paper and the content of each section. He will add some tips on how to choose the journal in which to publish, and conclude with a series of checklists that authors should follow to write a manuscript with a good chance of being published in a prestigious journal.
The talk will last 2.5 to 3 hours but can be reduced if necessary.
